Infection Control Statement – Farley Road Medical Practice – June 2023
We aim to keep our surgery clean and tidy, and offer a safe environment to our patients and staff. We Endeavour to keep the practice clean and well maintained. We have refurbished are branch examination rooms and room 1 at Farley medical practice. We plan further refurbishments.
If you have any concerns about cleanliness or infection control, please report these to our reception staff.
Our GPs and nursing staff follow our infection control policy to ensure the care we deliver and the equipment we use is safe.
We take additional measures to ensure we maintain the highest standards:
- Encourage staff and patients to raise ant concerns and report any incidents relating to cleanliness and infection control. We can discuss these and identify improvements we can make to avoid any future problems.
- We carry out quarterly infection control audits to ensure our infection control procedures are working and environment is clean and safe.
- Provide annual staff updates and training on cleanliness and infection control.
- Review are policies and procedures to ensure they are adequate and meet national guidance.
- Maintain the premises and equipment to a high standard within available financial resources and ensure all reasonable steps are taken to reduce or remove all infection risk.
- We use washable or disposable materials for such items as couch rolls, modesty curtains, hand towels etc. We ensure these are cleaned and changed frequently to minimise risk of infection.
- We have a cleaning schedule in each room
- Hand rub gel is available throughout the building.
