Right Care, First Time
You don't always need to see the GP, one of our skilled team may be more appropriate for your needs.
The Farley Road Medical Centre is putting you, the Patient First
How is the Farley Road Medical Practice putting patients first?
We understand that patients frequently experience frustration when attempting to schedule routine appointments, request repeat prescriptions, or inquire about immunisations by making phone calls to the practice. This often involves waiting in lengthy call queues. However, we want to let you know that AskFirst is accessible to patients around the clock, seven days a week, as a convenient alternative.
What has the practice put in place to manage this demand?
Starting from August 2023, our practice has been collaborating with AskFirst to launch a pilot program for Adult Flu Bookings. During this pilot, selected patients receive invitations to schedule appointments through the AskFirst app. Subsequently, we expanded the services offered through this platform, allowing patients to request repeat prescriptions, manage their appointments, access Covid19 guidance, and utilise our symptom checker. This initiative has yielded outstanding results, significantly reducing wait times for phone calls.
Was the pilot a success and what is the AskFirst application?
The pilot program has achieved considerable success, prompting the practice to expand its availability of appointment slots.
