Young carers

If you’re under 25 and giving support with daily life to a friend or family member, you may be a young carer. Young carers are entitled to support. You can find out how the Carers Trust supports young carers: carers.org/about-caring/about-young-carers

If you’re a young Carer offering support with daily living to someone in your life, have you looked at the support that is available to you? www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/support-and-benefits-for-carers/help-for-young-carers

Carers for older adults

If you’re currently caring for someone elderly, you may need some support yourself. Other people in the same position understand the challenges and isolation that can occur. The Carents Room was set up by a GP to help and support others. thecarentsroom.com/about

Bereavement support for carers

If you are a Carer or former Carer experiencing a bereavement, we are here for you.

Based on a programme developed by St Christopher’s Hospice, our "Learning From Loss" bereavement group for carers and former carers is here to help you share your experience, explore your feelings and discover ways of coping and finding strength.

Who is this group for?

The group is open to current and former carers of a Croydon resident, who have experienced a bereavement at least four to six months prior to starting our sessions. A Carer looks after a relative, friend or neighbour who needs support due to illness, disability or old age.

The group will be facilitated by a qualified and British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) registered counsellor.

If you would like to know more about the group, call Tanya on 020 8649 6280 or email tanyafitzgerald@carersinfo.org.uk.
